The undergraduates of the Yip lab display their impressive work in a 5 minute (give or take) presentation to their peers and judges.

Rachel spoke about the work she completed with Kha and Gage. Here she, investigated the GAP activity of RAB3GAP, for a number of RABs. Skillfully navigating a number of biochemical techniques with the aid of in silico protein structure prediction algorithms to tackle this challenge.

Alice presented her work trying to better understand how the multi-subunit autophagy tethering factor, HOPS, interacts with different small GTPases. To this end she leveraged a number of established biochemical techniques.

Both of these projects required a lot of preps, pull-downs, and tears, but it sure paid off!
